    Greg> Sweet, you've announced it :)

Sorry, I thought it was already announced (not sure why, I can't find
the announcement :).

Greg> Ok, want me to start peppering you with patches against this
Greg> tree? Or do you want them in some other form?

Patches are great.

Greg> Oh, and do you mind if we break the 2.4 buildability? You

Greg> Building outside of the tree for 2.6 is just so much easier,

In my opinion we need to keep 2.4 buildable. We still have customers
running Red Hat AS 2.1 (based on kernel 2.4.9 !?), and tons of people
want to use Red Hat EL 3.0. We need to do releases based on the
OpenIB tree before 2.4 has died, and I'd rather not have to go back
and fix things that are working now.

It's cool with me if we add more and more stuff to the ib_kcompat
module though (which is basically 2.4 backports of 2.6 stuff we
liked). I definitely agree that we have to get to a 2.6-native
codebase in the end but I'd like to do some more cleanup before
splitting the 2.4 and 2.6 trees.

Greg> First up, get rid of all of that typedef crap...

If you have patches for that, that's awesome... I've been trying to do
it gradually but somehow more interesting work keeps cropping up :)
