There are other open source software stacks available. You may want to
examine those stacks and their design before jumping to this conclusion.
That said, Infiniband is a complex architecture that requires a fair
amount of code to perform even "simple" non-connection based unreliable
datagram communication. A communication manager would still be needed
for UD queue pairs for service ID resolution.
