Okay.. I need to get something running on PPC64. The Mac G5 machines run
64 bit linux quite happily, but only in 2.6. I also want to run this on
IBM power4 machines.
I have run mellanox thca with small modifications on a G5 and a 32 bit
kernel. I started looking at a recent release, but gave up because the
build system is ugly and the code I had also still had the mellanox
proprietary license on it.
So, the question is, is there *anything* available now that works on
linux-2.6.3 on any platform??
I'm willing to do the work to get it to build on PPC64, but I need
something that I can successfully build and run on linux-2.6.3 x86,
and is 'open source'.

Somone asked my why I work on this free (http://www.fsf.org/philosophy/)
software stuff and not get a real job. Charles Shultz had the best answer:
"Why do musicians compose symphonies and poets write poems? They do it
because life wouldn't have any meaning for them if they didn't. That's why
I draw cartoons. It's my life." -- Charles Shultz
